Born with only three feet, the newborn kitten we named "Yardstick" was in sad condition when he came to Awwdoptable on one of the hottest days of this summer. He had been left behind in a flower pot when his mother moved her new litter, and the sad little guy was extremely dehydrated, thin, and dirty when his foster volunteer took him in. In fact, it was touch and go the first few weeks. But thanks to bottle feeding around the clock, a couple of late night visits to the emergency vet, and loving care by a very dedicated foster volunteer, little Yardstick began to thrive and show off his great big personality. His physical difference doesn't slow him down at this stage, and he is especially playful and affectionate.

Now that Yardstick is gaining weight, he'll soon be able to have his neuter surgery and vaccinations to keep him healthy. We are consulting with our veterinary partners about future medical care that might be necessary as he grows and gets ready to be awwdopted.​
