Regina's Story
One of kind, Regina has beaten the odds at every single step. She was born with a fused jaw and after arriving at a local shelter, was scheduled to be euthanized — until Awwdoptable stepped in and placed her with one of our caring fosters, Charley Carroll!
Regina has thrived since being rescued. She has learned to eat purées, despite being unable to open her jaw more than 1/4”. Gaining a solid 4 pounds in just a few months, she has made many two- and four-legged friends, winning hearts at every turn with her sweet and confident spirit — not to mention her award-worthy blep!
Over the last few months with us, Regina has seen several specialists to determine if surgery could improve her quality of life. When Regina presented with a swollen salivary gland, unable to eat, she was referred to the emergency department of the Texas A&M Veterinary School Small Animal Hospital. Her surgery to remove the swollen gland and inflammation was a success, and the hospital is now examining her for jaw surgery this week! Awwdoptable aims to give the best care and support to every animal to whom we make a commitment, no matter how complex, and though Regina’s case is rare and specialized, she’s no exception to that.
Awwdoptable operates 100% on donations from animal lovers like you, and we are raising $8,000 for Regina's surgery and aftercare. All donations are made to Awwdoptable, Inc. and will go directly towards Regina’s care. Any leftover funds will be used for rescue, care and rehoming of the 400 animals Awwdoptable will help this year.
